Evidian and IDEALX form a commercial partnership focused on strong authentication and Enterprise Single Sign-On solutions
Thanks to their interoperable solutions, Evidian and IDEALX can now offer smart-card/USB key management, Single-Sign On (SSO) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) implementation
Paris, October 10, 2006–Evidian and IDEALX announce today the interoperability of their WiseGuard (secure enterprise SSO) and OpenTrust (Card Management System and PKI) solutions.
The solution brings together cryptographic tokens (on a USB key or smart card), PIN codes and single sign-on, providing access to enterprise data in a way that is both extremely simple and highly secure.
Access rights management: the interoperability of the two offerings enables organizations to manage users' access rights to applications, assigning them an appropriate encryption resource and automatically generating digital certificates.
Automatic verification of digital certificate validity: the validity of the user's digital certificate is automatically checked, first when a user logs in to his or her station, and thereafter during the course of the Windows session. When a new token is submitted, the user certificates can be regenerated.
Evidian and IDEALX have already implemented their WiseGuard and OpenTrust solutions for a major company, as part of an IT security infrastructure designed to manage tens of thousands of users. The whole package combines the respective strengths of the Evidian and IDEALX solutions:
The WiseGuard SSO solution from Evidian enables the secure and straightforward implementation of a "plug and play" SSO. Based on a number of rules linked to users' business activities, WiseGuard offers very precise management of access rights to applications. The Evidian enterprise SSO solution secures access to applications—whether they are web-based or not, and whether they run on Windows, Citrix MetaFrame, Unix, or Linux servers, or on mainframes—without any modifications to those applications.
WiseGuard uses the user definitions that have already been performed in the enterprise directory (Active Directory, Microsoft ADAM, Sun Java System Directory Server, Fedora, OpenLDAP, Novell eDirectory or Tivoli Directory Server). WiseGuard interfaces with all types of strong authentication solutions, including smart cards, secure USB keys and biometric solutions, and can manage the life cycle of these components from a single console. When it comes to auditing and security, WiseGuard provides a number of integrated tools to enable the production of reports that conform to the toughest regulatory requirements, such as Sarbanes-Oxley, local financial security laws, Basel II, 21 CFR Part 11 and HIPAA.
The IDEALX OpenTrust solution provides an Open Source trust infrastructure that manages the life cycle of digital certificates and cryptographic tokens in a totally secure manner. In addition, IDX-SCM, the open-source Card Management System from IDEALX, enables the implementation of multi-use cards and tokens (for PKI, SSO, access control, electronic purse,...) to be managed in centralized and/or devolved organizations. IDX-SCM can organize the issue of cards, unlock them remotely, signal their cooperation with all distributed applications, and send out replacement cards.
