Approval Workflow: Operator functionality

Who are the operators?

Operators are the people in charge of administering a workflow process model (deploying or removing a process model, viewing logs and histories, canceling activities,…). These users are defined in an authoritative identity source such as an LDAP directory or the SIB.

Managing process models

An operator can deploy or remove the process models they are in charge of. The deployment of a process model makes a process model usable by end users. The operators can define a list of participants for a process model and also define the mapping between roles and participants.

Managing process instances

The operators can manage the process models they are in charge of:

  • View a process participant
  • View the relevant data managed by a process
  • End a process

Managing activities

The operators can manage the activities of each process model they are in charge of, typically to:

  • View an activity participant
  • View the relevant data managed by an activity
  • Launch an activity in the process

Consulting logs and histories

The operators can view logs and histories of the processes they are in charge of..
